How to Make the Blender Girl's Orange & Poppy Seed Muffin Smoothie
Hi, I’m Tess Masters,
We’re all busy. Time is the most precious commodity we have. We can’t bottle it, so we package everything else. Processed foods offer us a convenient way to fill up on the run. But, I don’t want to compromise my health because I’ve got more pressing things to do.
Enter the blender, and healthy fast food becomes possible.
At TheBlenderGirl.com, I share quick, easy recipes made in a blender – smoothies, dips, dressings, sauces, soups, salads, main meals (with a blended component), snacks, and desserts. My goal is to encourage people to eat more fruits and vegetables in fun delicious ways.
The right kitchen tools make food prep a breeze, and the new KitchenAid Pro Line Blender is the best blender I have ever used. This brilliant new machine marks the next generation in blending.
With this machine, the 3.5-peak-horsepower motor and patented stainless-steel blade work together to create the ultimate blending vortex with the most power at the blade*, to create the most brilliant smoothies, nut milks, soups, sauces, frozen desserts, and more.
The variable speed dial, high/low pulse feature, and flex-edge tamper allow you complete control for custom blending so you get your dishes juuuust right. I really love the flex-edge spatula on the tamper that allows you to scrape down the sides of the container while the machine is running to save time and help you get the smoothest results.
With a premium die-cast metal base (most other machines have a plastic base) and a special jar pad that holds the container snugly in place, this blender delivers ultimate stability to prevent the rocking motion that can occur with other blenders.
I am so excited that for the first time in the high-speed blender space, we have a blender that offers form and function. It is a stunning machine that matches our stand mixer and other appliances, and is matched by superior performance.
This machine is a game changer in the blending space, and I am so delighted to be visiting the Dallas store to share some of my favorite recipes.j
This Orange & Poppy Seed Muffin Smoothie tastes like a melted muffin, so you can satisfy your sweet tooth without the need to bake. This blend is also a lot healthier than your average muffin. I achieve a batter flavor by blending up raw cashews and rolled oats, and the Pro Line(R) Series blender is so powerful I can get a silky smooth consistency every time.
Orange & Poppy Seed Muffin Smoothie Recipe
Serves 2 (makes two 16-ounce glasses)
- 3/4 cup (180ml) unsweetened almond milk
- 1/8 teaspoon finely grated orange zest, plus more to taste
- 2 medium oranges, peeled and seeded
- 1 medium banana
- 1/2 cup (70g) raw, unsalted cashews
- 1/3 cup (30g) rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1 cup (125g) ice cubes
- Put all ingredients in the blender jar of the KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender, except the poppyseeds and ice. Secure lid and set the blender to the Smoothie setting. Blend until machine turns itself off. Alternatively, blend on Speed 1 and gradually increase to Speed 10 or 11, and blend for 40 to 60 seconds, until smooth and creamy. Add the poppyseeds and ice, and blast again on high for 10 to 20 seconds until chilled.
- Smoothie is best if served right away.
Come down and see me at the Dallas store on October 22nd at 12PM and 2PM and I will give you a taste of some of the other awesome things you can make in your blender!
I can’t wait to meet you.
*When testing the blender power output at the blade using a dynamometer, this KitchenAid blender produces more power than the leading competitors.
