Bake to Make a Difference with KitchenAid’s 10,000 Cupcakes

Here are a couple of quick and easy recipes to make some awesome cupcakes!

Strawberry Cupcakes

Makes 24 Cupcakes

You will need:

  • 1 Duncan Hines Strawberry Supreme Signature Cake Mix
  • 1-16 oz. container of thawed strawberries with sugar in the plastic container
  • 1/3 cup Canola Oil
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • Rose Petal Cupcake Wrappers or 3 different shades of pink wrappers
  • #1M or #2D Piping tool and Disposable Decorating Bag or you can simply use a spatula to spread icing on top of the cupcake.
  • Piping Bag or you can use a small spatula to spread on your cupcakes
  • Pink Food Coloring
  • Icing

Baking instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F for metal or glass pans, 325°F for dark or coated pans. (Use baking cups for cupcakes)
  2. Blend cake mix, water, oil and eggs in large bowl at low speed until moistened (about 30 seconds). Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter in pans and bake immediately.
  3. Bake at 350° F for 15-18 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center of the cupcake, if it comes out clean the cake is done. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Cool completely before frosting. Use a #2D or #1M Piping Tool to create a single rose on top of each cupcake and choose any shade of pink food coloring for the ombre look.

Chocolate with Oreo Cookie Cupcakes

Makes 24 Cupcakes

You will need:

  • 1 Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 1/3 Cup of Canola Oil
  • 3 Large Eggs

Baking instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F for metal or glass pans, 325°F for dark or coated pans. (Use baking cups for cupcakes.)
  2. Blend cake mix, water, oil and eggs in a large bowl at low speed until moistened (about 30 seconds). BEAT at medium speed for 2 minutes. POUR batter into baking cups and bake immediately.
  3. Bake at 350° F for 15-18 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center of the cake, if it comes out clean, the cake is done. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Let it cool completely before frosting. Use a #1A Piping Tool to create a swirl on top and then place an Oreo Cookie on top and take tip #150 Piping Tool with piping bag and create your pink ribbon on top.
