Introducing the Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge
Samsung recently unveiled their latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. While the designs haven’t changed drastically, they have greatly improved their phones from previous generations. To begin, both phones come with sleek curves and rounded corners for better handling. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge both feature a glass and metal design, having a premium build to it that you see from the current iPhone and Galaxy S6. Samsung learned from their flaws on the Galaxy S6 and they improved every aspect of their recent flagships. Some of the improved features include updates to the screen, camera, battery life, storage, and water resistance.
Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge Features
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge come with Super Amoled displayed featuring Quad HD resolutions, Samsung has the best smartphone displays in the market. Their Super AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) brings vibrant and saturated colors, deep blacks, and perfect viewing angels. Additional features include:
- Always on display
- Allowing you to see your notifications, calendar, weather information, all with a quick glance, without having to wake the phone
- Less than 1% battery life use
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge come with a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. They also feature an f/1.7 aperture lens allowing the camera to take in more light and make for better low light performance.
Both phones come with a larger battery, making the phone slightly thicker, but that’s an oversight when we get a bigger battery! They also brought back wireless charging and quick charging capabilities.
- The Galaxy S7 comes with a large 3,000 mAh battery
- The Galaxy S7 Edge comes with a 3,600 mAh battery
Have you ever been at a concert, wanted to take a video of the artist performing your favorite song, and you get a notification that you don’t have any memory storage? *SCREAMS INTERNALLY* That will not happen again! Samsung lets you add expanded storage with a microSD card. We certainly appreciate the return of this feature!
Samsung really listened to the criticism from Galaxy fans. Now, both smartphones come with an IP 68 rating for protection against dust and water; something that the Galaxy S6 did not have!
In my opinion, the Galaxy models are by far the best phone out at the moment. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be available for purchase on March 11th. We’ll carry the phones on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and U.S Cellular. In the meantime, you can check out all our smartphones on NFM.com before you head in to the store to make your purchase.
