Inspiration Showcase: How a Coat of Paint Can Transform Light Bulbs Into Art

Contemporary Living Room Furniture with Leather Sofas
Laurie Jordan

Introducing Twilight, the newest Inspiration Showcase at NFM. Discover an eclectic color scheme that’s harmoniously paired up with chic home furnishings & accents.

The creation of the Twilight Inspiration Showcase originated with two of our designers, Sylvia Salazar and Becki Bowers, from our Texas location. Once the ladies chose the Twilight theme they put their creative thinking caps on, did a bit of brainstorming and conjured up their beautiful Light Bulb Installation. These gals took an everyday object that is rarely seen as a thing of beauty and transformed it into an amazing work of art.

The majority of the crystal clear light bulbs were coated in a rich, gold paint. The remaining bulbs were left in their natural state. This original work of art immediately catches your eye and is truly the focal point of the room. The walls are covered in Benjamin Moore “Old Navy” #BM2063-10 paint. This shade of blue is dramatic, rich and pairs perfectly not only with the gold and clear lightbulbs but allows the accessories, decor and the saddle colored leather furniture to pop.

The luxurious leather sofa and chairs are a contemporary style and they each feature a very current and unique rose gold finished base. The decorative tufting coordinates perfectly with the Light Bulb Installation project.

To tie everything in the room together, Sylvia and Becki chose accents and décor in midnight blue, gold and eggshell. The geometric shaped cocktail table is perfect for displaying special decorative pieces plus, the clear glass top allows you to view the blue and cream oriental rug.

I asked the ladies which parts of the room were their favorite. I’m not surprised that Sylvia chose the Light Bulb Installation, I love it too! She thought it was great that they took an item that is often overlooked and mundane then added some of their creative magic, time and paint then turned the light bulbs into something unexpected and beautiful. Becki favored the leather sofa for its unique design. She appreciated the sturdy, hardy material that is sitting atop the dainty architecture of the rose gold frame. She felt that many times furniture can look heavy but this sofa design creates space and appears to be light.

Stop by our location in The Colony to see the Twilight Inspiration Showcase or shop online, but hurry, it’s on display for a limited time!
