The Game Changer: January 2016
Previewing New Release Video Games for January 2016
Hello gaming fans and welcome to the first Game Changer of the year. This year, I’m going to focus on the less publicized video games that will be coming out. By doing this I hope to bring light to some games that maybe you would just pass by on the shelf because you haven’t heard about them!
My first selection for this new year is a game called Life is Strange. It is an episodic, choose your own adventure with a twist. You play as a pretty average high school girl who has a very unusual ability. She has moved back to her home town, to attend a very selective high school in an effort to enhance her art as a photographer. During an incident at school she finds out that she has the ability to rewind time and make changes. She also reunites with her old friend Chloe to investigate strange happenings in the town of Arcadia Bay.
This game has a lot of twists and turns to the plot that will keep you playing for hours. I felt that the visual art, voice acting, and story is so well done that this is one of my Must Plays for 2016. This game is heavily story driven, and you must be careful about the choices you make, it’s a matter of life or death for the characters involved. There is a good mix of puzzles and choices you must make, that make this the ultimate interactive movie series.
I give this game a 4 ½ stars out of 5, if you are looking for a video game that has an amazing story, look no further than Life is Strange!
