When looking to refresh a room to a fall feeling, start with selecting a color scheme. Note: in true fall tradition, warm tones are totally welcome. In this table setting we chose to highlight elements of the outdoors and bring them inside. Crisp oranges, soft yellows, and pale greens were all colors we tried to highlight with orange being the most prominent. We brought in natural elements of nature through leaves, branches, acorns, and other miscellaneous seasonal findings.
After you’ve got your color scheme, add in texture. Fall is about layering, so what a better way to decorate than to layer color with texture. Woods, metals and metallics are all on trend to add an element of unexpected with the traditional orange, cranberry and yellow hues. This will create a calm and quiet feeling, adding to the getting cozy mind frame.
Creating a table setting not only spices up any dining area, but also aids as a conversational element. Adding in a couple of fun decorative objects items gets your guests talking and the kids interested. This table setting has a couple of little fall critters (squirrel & hedgehog) enjoying the elements of fall. You can keep your table setting fun and sophisticated by adding in classic elements such as simple white plates on top of wooden chargers.
