The New Games Previewed at E3

In the “almost” words of Meghan Trainor, this year’s E3 Game Conference was “ALL ABOUT THE GAMES!”  Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo’s Press Conferences focused primarily on all the great new titles coming out this year. Whether they first party or third, 2015 will definitely have a game for everyone.  And if you have been debating whether or not to buy a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Wii U, get off the fence and get into NFM to pick up a new system. You’ll be ready to go when the new games start launching exclusively on these platforms. Even if your beloved game still comes on the old platform, these new releases are designed to play on next gen consoles and you won’t want to be left in the dust!

Another reason to finally make the jump?  If you’re the proud owner of an Xbox 360 and more games than you can count, Microsoft will be making numerous games forward compatible for the Xbox One later this year.  If you’re an Xbox One Preview Member, there are about 24 games available for you now, but more games will be coming as publishers come on board.

The rest of 2015 will be filled with games for every type of gamer. Batman: Arkham Knight is kicking off the gaming season right on June 23 and is available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. IGN gave the game a 9.2 out of 10!

For the sports enthusiast, golf is FINALLY back with Rory McIlroy PGA Tour available on July 14 for Xbox One and PS4 (See a trend? It’s definitely time for the new System!). Madden 16 will be released August 25 and EA will also be back with great new features in NHL and FIFA. NBA 2K16 is adding an Early Tip-Off date that will allow pre-order customers to pick up the game Friday before release with special downloadable content included. If you love speed and customization, check out Need for Speed. You can spend hours customizing your vehicle to look and drive just like you want it.

If you’re a social gamer and you haven’t heard yet… the Band is back! Guitar Hero and Rock Band are both back and bigger and better than ever! Guitar Hero Live, available October 20th, has a brand new guitar that makes it easier for the beginners and more challenging for players that mastered the old guitar with a new 6-key layout. There are new features that make the game more interactive with the crowd and with GHTV, you even have the chance to play along with your favorite music video.

Rock Band 4, coming October 6 on PS4 and Xbox One, will feature a new freestyle guitar and drums solo spots during songs to keep the crowd rocking.  The best part?  Rock Band 4 supports your previously purchased Rock Band DLC AND the Legacy equipment (being a pack rat finally pays off!).

For kids & families, Disney InfINity is returning with 3.0 that will include Star Wars (August 30) and Skylanders SuperChargers (now with Donkey Kong and Bowser) is coming back September 20!  Nintendo, always the family favorite, has some great games coming to add for family night- Super Mario Maker Wii U (think Minecraft meets MarioLand), September 11 and Yoshi’s Woolly World Wii U, October 16, will bring the cutest, most lovable Amiibos into your home.

Some of the biggest releases will come this fall. From legendary classics like Call of Duty: Black Ops III (November 6), Halo 5: Guardians (October 27), and Fallout 4 (November 10) to new IPs Mad Max (September 1) or Star Wars: Battlefront (November 17), these titles will make you plan your vacation around their release.

I’ve barely scratched the surface on all the amazing titles coming out this year, so stay tuned for more exciting details! As you can see, now’s the perfect time to get into gaming. Make sure to check out NFM.com or visit us in store for the best prices on all things gaming.
