Trend Forecast: High Point Market Highlights
High Point Market is held every 6 months in North Carolina. It’s the world’s largest home furnishings industry trade show and boasts over 11.5 million square feet of display space and more than 2,000 exhibitors. Visiting High Point Market gives our buyers a chance to forecast furniture trends and see the latest offerings from popular brands. Here are a couple of the takeaways from the fall market event.
Mid-Century Modern is one of the most popular looks coming out of the High Point Market. Using rich walnut veneers and finishes, Pulaski Furniture has created a new collection called Rhythm & Home. They’ve included modern twists to bedroom furniture like a nightstand with Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in speaker. See the video below for the inspiration behind Pulaski’s line.
High-end, sophisticated youth bedroom sets were also featured throughout High Point. We’re seeing bolder styles with a grown-up look in kids’ furniture. You can add hints of fun throughout the room with scree-printed throw pillows and imaginative wall art. Industrial looks and rough finishes also add an urban edge to a kid’s room.
New takes on kitchen islands and kitchen carts are on the way as well. If you’re thinking about remodeling your kitchen, a kitchen island might be the upgrade that you’ve been looking for. They’re a perfect marriage of form and function, adding storage and additional counter space without breaking your budget. The newest models feature extended surface areas and drop leafs so you can pull up barstools for extra seating.
