It's Christmas Eve, time to build a gingerbread house!
The stockings are hung, the shopping is done, the gifts are wrapped, the cookies are baked, family is home and the kids (and perhaps some adults) are staring wide eyed at the tree doing everything in their power to refrain from ripping into every single present. Sound familiar? Don’t forget about the traditional Christmas activity of building gingerbread houses. What a great way to spend time with loved ones and let your creativity shine (and get them away from the tree).
There are many ways to construct the perfect gingerbread house, some prefer to make their own gingerbread from scratch and then roll out the pieces for the walls and roof. Others that don’t want to hassle with baking simply use graham crackers or even a pre-cut kit purchased from a store. Either way the key to a successful gingerbread house is the glue. Consider using melted caramels to hold your house together, but work quickly as caramel hardens fast. To really take your house to the next level, place a strand of battery operated lights inside and let your house shine. So gather your family and let the construction begin; not to mention the memories that will last forever.
